From January to June of 2018, I worked on an honors thesis project through UC Davis’ design department. The goal of the project was to create a number of autobiographical games about my experiences being mentally ill, to explore media representation and how such work might be therapeutic to the creator, in a manner akin to art therapy and journaling, and to the player.
In My Friend Carrie's Car is a text-based game with a frame-story, made using Unity3D. In the game, I am on my way to Home Depot with a friend. Things that come up during the drive and in conversation bring me back to various points in my college career. The game was an experiment in narrative formation to help process potentially traumatic life experiences. You can download the game for free here.
